Ford Ranger Pickups

The Ford Ranger as it's known in North America was built from 1983 through 2012. The Ranger was a nameplate used on some F-150 pickups back in the 1970's and 1980's but became it's own compact pickup model, to replace the Ford Courier. The truck was also rebadged during much of it's life as a Mazda B-Series pickup, as Ford had part ownership in Mazda.

The Ranger was a very popular pickup back in it's hey-day. It was very popular, quite reliable, and easy to repair. Parts were cheap, and the 4-cylinder model was great on gas. The V6 models, less so. During the compact Ranger's 24 year run, it really wasn't updated all that much compared to most vehicles produced that length of time. It was available as a regular cab or a SuperCab model with fuel efficient 4-cylinder engines and more powerful V6 engines.

For a brief time in 2002, Ford even offered a pure electric EV (electric vehicle) version dubbed the Ford Ranger EV.
